Jagoba Arrasate: "It was a deserved defeat"
Los Rojillos fell at the Sánchez-Pizjuán
Club Atlético Osasuna (3-2-5, 11 points) lost to Sevilla Fútbol Club (5-2-3, 17 points), 2-0, at Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Monday night. Forwards Isaac and Félix Correia scored for the home side.
Osasuna started aggressively, creating several chances. Its first opportunity came when defender Enzo Boyomo tried to head in a corner but missed the target. Sevilla responded with a shot by Félix that sailed over the crossbar.
Osasuna continued to press, but midfielder Moi Gómez and forward Ante Budimir were unable to capitalize on their chances. Isaac then opened the scoring with a shot from outside the box. Sevilla took control after the goal and looked to extend its lead, but goalkeeper Aitor Fernández stopped a dangerous attempt by forward Chidera Ejuke.
Osasuna again pressed early in the second half, but Sevilla’s defense prevented any serious threats. Sevilla later regained control and forced Fernández to make two saves. Defender Juan Iglesias also hit the post.
Félix sealed the victory on a counterattack late in the match. Osasuna midfielder Kike Barja tried to cut into the deficit after a corner kick but could not reach the ball.
